IT Data Cabling Field Technician

Location: Dallas, TX

Positions open for contract (W9/1099) - must be willing to travel.

Job Description:

- 4+ years of Data Cabling Field Technician experience 

- BICSI certified or equivalent experience

- CAT5E, CAT6, CAT6A, CAT7 cabling installations

- Dallas Low-Voltage Data Cabling Services experience lift operations

- J-hook installation experience

- Cat5/Cat6 termination expertise

- Fiber optics a plus

- Network cabinet build out

- Rack installation experience (patch panels, switched, UPS, etc)

- Conduit installation

- Cable testing, toning, and troubleshooting

- Network IT Services in L.A. (100% onsite at client sites)

- Experience installing complex and large low-voltage data cabling solutions

- Cabling and network installation project/team lead management experience a plus

- Structured cable installation

- Candidate must have excellent spoken and written English.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Provide Onsite Data Cabling Services

- Troubleshooting, diagnose and network repairs related to Network Infrastrucutre

- Isolates system problems and/or malfunctions and resolves issues in timely manner

- Responsible for preventive cable maintenance including inspection and testing

- Knowledge of building codes related to fire codes

- Knowledge of appropriate IEEE specifications for copper and fiber data/voice cabling systems

- Systems and configuration

- Work from a tickets and or service requests

- Excellent customer interactions/services and delivery efforts as part of a team on work orders and projects

- Read and interpret customer service orders, repair tickets, technical (i.e., mechanical, electrical, digital) drawings, maps, blueprints, diagrams, etc.

- Communicate and respond to communications in clear, concise and timely manners

- Submit detailed reports and document (photos, etc.) service tickets professionally
